Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Gold Trader role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Gold Trader will be responsible for executing physical and, where applicable, paper gold trades in line with company strategy and risk guidelines, including quoting prices, placing orders, and monitoring open positions throughout the trading day. The role includes analyzing global precious metals markets, tracking price movements, economic indicators, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and manage exposure.
The Gold Trader will build and maintain relationships with counter parties, refineries, banks, brokers, and logistics partners to ensure reliable sourcing, pricing, and settlement. Daily tasks also involve preparing trade documentation, coordinating with finance, operations, and compliance teams on KYC/AML requirements, and producing regular reports on positions, P&L, and market outlook. The individual will contribute to improving trading processes, tools, and strategies to support Vifaru International’s broader commodity trading activities.
- Strong knowledge of gold and precious metals markets, including pricing mechanisms, market structures, and key global trading hubs.
- Proven experience in commodity or FX trading, treasury, or related financial roles, preferably with exposure to metals or physical commodities.
- Solid understanding of risk management, including position limits, hedging concepts, and P&L tracking.
- Familiarity with KYC, AML, and international trade compliance requirements, particularly for high-value commodities.
- Proficiency with trading platforms, market data tools, and Microsoft Excel (including basic modeling, analysis, and reporting).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret market data, economic news, and technical indicators under time pressure.
- Effective negotiation and relationship-building skills to work with counter parties, suppliers, financial institutions, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages relevant to Middle East and African markets are an advantage.
