Finance Intern, SSA

Job Purpose: Support the SSA CFO and the Sub‑Saharan Africa Finance function across all finance towers, contributing to financial planning, reporting, analysis, and operational coordination across the cluster.

• Finance & Controlling Support
  • Assist preparation and consolidation of financial reports and management insights
  • Collaborate with the Cluster Controller on initiatives supporting business development and operational excellence
  • Support financial planning, analysis, forecasting and performance tracking across the cluster
  • Monitor financial performance to enhance transparency and support decision‑making
  • Track key finance areas including cash flow, treasury, working capital, collections, payables, record‑to‑report and intercompany topics
  • Collect, validate and follow‑up on data with country finance teams
• Executive & Administrative Support to SSA CFO
  • Prepare presentations, reports and briefing materials for the SSA CFO and leadership discussions
  • Coordinate meetings, agendas and action tracking
  • Support structured follow‑up on key topics across SSA finance teams
  • Organise finance reviews, governance meetings and workshops
• PMO & Project Coordination
  • Track and coordinate finance initiatives and transformation projects
  • Maintain project trackers, timelines and status updates
  • Follow up with stakeholders to ensure delivery against agreed actions and deadlines
  • Prepare updates for management and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to improving structure, organisation and discipline across ongoing initiatives
• Cross‑Functional & Strategy Alignment
  • Work closely with Strategy, Business and other support functions
  • Align finance initiatives with DGF strategy and cluster priorities
  • Prepare materials for business reviews and strategic discussions
  • Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity
• Communication & Coordination
  • Consolidate updates and track deliverables across SSA finance teams
  • Act as a coordination point to ensure clear follow‑ups and accountability
  • Improve visibility of key topics, risks and priorities
• Continuous Improvement
  • Support finance projects aimed at improving processes, reporting and efficiency
  • Contribute ideas to enhance consistency, standardisation and digital working methods
  • Track improvements and implementation progress

• Strong change management and decision‑making skills
• Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities
• Digital proficiency with data analytics tools, digital platforms and technologies
• Flexible mindset and resilience in dynamic environments
• Basic understanding of key finance processes: controlling & financial planning, record‑to‑report, invoice‑to‑payment, accounts receivable, cash‑flow management
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience with Microsoft Teams
• Interest in finance operations, controlling and business partnership
