A leading international automotive organization operating across the Middle East is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join its regional finance team. This role is responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, supporting business planning, and providing accurate financial reporting across multiple markets within the region.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an automotive OEM regional office environment and possess strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Assist with VAT compliance, tax filings, and statutory reporting requirements across the region.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Support regional business units with financial analysis and reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, risk management procedures, and corporate governance standards.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience working within an automotive OEM regional office or multinational automotive organization is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards.
- Experience with VAT compliance and regional tax regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Kingdee, or similar).
- Experience managing multi-country financial reporting within the Middle East region.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to support business decision-making through financial insights.
- Professional, ethical, and highly confidential in handling financial information.
- Previous experience with an automotive manufacturer (OEM) regional headquarters.
- Experience supporting distributor networks and regional operations across the Middle East.
- Exposure to multinational corporate reporting environments.
- Experience working with Chinese automotive brands will be advantageous.
