Investment Counsellor

Job Description

As a member of the Local Investment Advisory team, you will be responsible for advising clients and prospects on investment solutions, partnering with Private Banking Client Relationship Officers (CROs) to offer appropriate discretionary and advisory investment solutions, and attracting/enhancing client relationships and profitability.

• Work directly with clients and partner with Client Relationship Officers, assess investment needs based on risk profile, and develop a comprehensive investment strategy.
• Create tailor‑made investment proposals across different markets with appropriate products and services, adjusting portfolios to client risk appetite, needs, and market conditions.
• Observe and analyse financial markets to monitor and develop clients’ investment strategies.
• Be proactive and maintain regular contact with clients and CROs to inform them of market developments, portfolio evolution, and the bank’s investment ideas and opportunities.
• Provide input and support for the development of new business initiatives and product enhancements.
• Promote discretionary mandates to increase penetration.
• Contribute to the increase of client share of wallet.
• Comply with all internal and external regulations and procedures.

• University degree in economics or finance, or comparable qualifications (e.g. CFA, AZEK).
• Client‑facing experience in investment advisory and sales, including portfolio management.
• Extensive knowledge of private banking business (onshore and offshore) and the competitive and regulatory environment.
• Passion for financial markets.
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments across all asset classes, ESG and Alternatives.
• Ability to establish close, trusted relationships with CROs and clients.
• Ability to build and maintain networks with internal stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic;
  French would be a plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Results‑oriented, with the ability to proactively and independently solve problems.
• Sound judgement, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity.
• Very good communication and presentation skills.
• Good knowledge of Bloomberg.
