Role Overview
One&Only The Palm Hotel Dubai invites an experienced Host to provide personalized VIP services. The role is integral to the resort’s success, overseeing guests from arrival to departure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Welcome and assist all VIP guests with check‑in, escorting, concierge inquiries and orientation.
- At the start of the shift, note all VIP arrivals and confirm special requests have been met.
- Greet all VIP arrivals warmly and personalize service according to standard procedures.
- Adhere to all resort rules, Service Standard Policies and any communications briefed by the Manager.
- Attend departmental briefing each shift; submit daily arrival lists with comments and remarks of guests.
- Communicate any special requests or comments immediately to the team and Manager.
- Maintain knowledge of all attractions, sales promotions and resort activities.
- Know resort layout to assist guests with directions or tours.
- Recognize guests celebrating special occasions at check‑in and coordinate required departments.
- Update guest profiles in Opera and attach passport scans to registration cards.
- Drop all registration cards at the end of the shift in the front‑desk back‑office.
- Organize special amenities for VIP arrivals, handle complaints and arrange special celebrations.
- Make daily courtesy calls to check on guest satisfaction and report any issues to Team Leaders.
- Ensure resort collaterals are stocked, set up, and updated with marketing when new items arrive.
- Arrange agreed magazine titles and newspapers according to instructions.
- Allocate rooms as requested by guests whenever possible.
- Co‑ordinate with housekeeping for pending queue rooms and priority rooms for arrivals.
- Liaise with airport team to monitor guest arrival and report location and arrival time to leaders and managers.
- Communicate guests’ transport requests accurately and promptly.
- Be trained in emergency procedures and basic first aid.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to meet occupancy requirements.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role within an upscale luxury hospitality industry or five‑star hotels.
- Strong customer‑service and reservation background, attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent English communication skills; fluency in Russian or Arabic mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Computer literacy, experience with Opera system, and relevant software.
- Middle East/GCC experience is an advantage.
