Kitchen Steward – Cleanliness & Operational Support Champion at Inter Continental Residences Dubai Business Bay

At Inter Continental Residences Dubai Business Bay, we are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Steward who takes pride in maintaining exceptional cleanliness, organization, and operational support within our culinary operations.

This role is designed for an individual who understands that every outstanding dining experience begins behind the scenes—with spotless equipment, organized work spaces, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.

This is more than a dishwashing role. As a Kitchen Steward, you are a vital part of the culinary team, ensuring that kitchens, preparation areas, storage spaces, and service equipment remain clean, safe, and fully operational at all times.

You will contribute directly to the success of our restaurants, in‑room dining, banqueting operations, and culinary teams by maintaining a hygienic and efficient back‑of‑house environment.

As Kitchen Steward, you will play a critical role in supporting food production and service operations through effective cleaning, sanitation, equipment handling, and waste management practices. Your commitment to cleanliness, teamwork, and operational efficiency helps ensure our culinary teams can focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will work closely with the Stewarding Supervisor, Chefs, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure all kitchen and service equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and available when needed. From maintaining dishwashing areas and handling kitchen equipment to supporting banquet operations and maintaining hygiene standards, your work will contribute to the smooth operation of every culinary outlet within the hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain exceptional hygiene standards: ensure all kitchen and service equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to hotel and food safety standards.
  • Support efficient culinary operations: assist in maintaining organized and operationally ready kitchen environments.
  • Develop professional hospitality skills: learn and grow within a professional luxury hospitality environment.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, and stewarding areas.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned and available for operational use.
  • Assist with the movement and storage of kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Support chefs and kitchen teams with operational requirements when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
  • Remove and dispose of waste according to hotel procedures.
  • Segregate waste and support sustainability initiatives where applicable.
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Support restaurant, banquet, and in‑room dining operations as required.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing operational equipment during events and busy service periods.
  • Respond promptly to operational requests from culinary and service teams.
  • Maintain adequate stock of cleaning materials and stewarding supplies.
  • Follow all health, safety, and security procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Participate in safety and hygiene training programs.
  • Work collaboratively with Culinary, Stewarding, and Food & Beverage teams.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Contribute to a culture of cleanliness, safety, and teamwork.
Qualifications
  • High School Certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous stewarding, kitchen cleaning, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience in hotels, restaurants, or large‑scale food service operations is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and able to perform operational tasks.
