Role PurposeThe Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a strategic advisor to the Wholesale Banking leadership team, driving the people agenda in alignment with business objectives. The role will lead a team of HR professionals and oversee the full spectrum of HR activities including talent management, organizational design, performance, culture, and Emiratisation. This individual will play a critical role in enabling business growth, enhancing leadership capability, and building a high-performance culture across Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, and related Wholesale functions.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Partnering- Partner closely with the Wholesale Banking CEO / Business Heads to define and execute the people strategy aligned to business goals
- Act as a trusted advisor on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and transformation initiatives
- Drive HR involvement in key business decisions, ensuring people implications are considered at leadership level
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8–10 HR professionals across multiple HR disciplines
- Build a high-performing HR team with strong business acumen and stakeholder management capability
- Ensure consistent delivery of HR services across the Wholesale Banking division
- Design and implement talent strategies including succession planning, leadership development, and high-potential identification
- Partner with senior leadership to build robust talent pipelines for critical roles
- Oversee performance management cycles and calibration processes
- Lead organizational design initiatives to ensure structures support business growth and efficiency
- Drive and support large-scale transformation and change management programs
- Advise on restructuring, role design, and capability building
- Champion Emiratisation strategy within Wholesale Banking
- Develop targeted initiatives to attract, retain, and develop UAE National talent
- Partner with government and internal stakeholders to meet regulatory and strategic Emiratisation goals
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, culture, and retention
- Act on employee feedback and engagement survey results to implement meaningful improvements
- Promote a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven culture
- Partner with Compensation & Benefits to ensure competitive and equitable reward structures
- Advise business leaders on compensation decisions, promotions, and retention strategies
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with Risk and Compliance teams on employee-related risk matters
- Maintain strong governance across HR processes
- UAE National (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 12–18+ years of HR experience, with significant exposure to HR Business Partnering within banking or financial services
- Strong understanding of Wholesale Banking / Corporate & Investment Banking environments
- Proven experience managing and leading HR teams
- Demonstrated ability to operate at senior leadership / executive level
- Strong track record in organizational transformation, talent management, and stakeholder engagement
