Role OverviewThe Legal Counsel will join Carrier’s regional legal team to provide expert legal and corporate governance support for operations across the UAE and Qatar
. This role is central to ensuring legal compliance, managing risks, and supporting the business with practical, actionable advice.
You will work closely with commercial, HR, regulatory, compliance, and executive teams to drive legal strategy and governance practices that support Carrier’s business growth and operational success in the Middle East.
Role Responsibilities Legal & Governance LeadershipServe as the lead legal and corporate governance advisor for UAE and Qatar operations.
Provide strategic counsel on commercial, regulatory, labour, and corporate governance matters.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance frameworks, board and committee processes, and directors’ duties.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor, customer, distribution, technology, employment, regulatory, leasing, and service contracts.
Support commercial transactions, cross-border operations, and business expansions.
Track regulatory, legal, and governance updates in UAE and Qatar.
Advise on employment matters, workplace investigations, inspections, and dispute resolution.
Ensure adherence to company secretarial obligations and corporate record-keeping standards.
Liaise with external counsel, controlling legal spend while ensuring advice aligns with business objectives.
Lead internal legal communications, policy rollouts, and training sessions to strengthen governance awareness.
Support board and shareholder meetings, including minute-taking, resolution drafting, and filings with authorities.
- Champion regional improvements in corporate governance and compliance through cross-functional initiatives and projects.
Education: LL.B., J.D., or equivalent law degree.
Experience: 7–10 years post-qualification, combining law firm and in-house counsel experience, preferably in the Middle East.
Strong knowledge of UAE and Qatar legal systems, including commercial, corporate, labour, regulatory, and governance legislation.
Experience supporting board/committee processes, managing company secretarial duties, and driving governance compliance.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, risk analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in English;
Arabic language skills are a plus.Business-oriented, proactive, and adept at working in cross-cultural environments.
