Our client is a non profit organisation with headquarters in Europe and offices worldwide. They are looking to hire a legal officer for its Dubai based offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible to lead and manage all legal activities of the company in the UAE. The role requires to ensure compliance with local laws (UAE Federal Law, Dubai regulations, DIFC/ADGM laws), advise senior management, mitigates legal risks and be the legal representative of Dubai office to our client's European headquarters.
Manage corporate governance documentation, implement and maintain internal compliance policies including anti corruption, AML sanctions, data protection and code of conduct. Litigation and claims management including overseeing disputes in coordination with external law firms. Deal with regulatory and government affairs. Managing and supervising an inhouse legal assistant.
The ideal applicant will have a strong knowledge of UAE corporate and commercial laws, understand free-zone regulations, excellent legal contract drafting in English with a solid understanding of compliance frameworks. Knowledge of the automotive sectors is an advantage. French and / or Arabic languages would be highly advantageous.
