Private Bank UAE Team Head
Overview
The Private Bank UAE Team Head manages a team of senior professionals targeting Ultra High Net Worth Individuals in the UAE market. This role drives business growth, manages a team, delivers solutions to clients in collaboration with global product teams and functions. The role requires a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the function, solid conceptual and practical grounding in the function and/or area of expertise, and in-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors’ products/services to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business.
Excellent communication skills are required to influence a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. Medium- to long-term plans are developed and functional strategies executed for the market under management, requiring coordination and integration across units.
- Business Development and Growth:
Grow the existing client business. Demonstrated ability to grow such business through a focused and high-quality team. - Set overall vision and direction for the business, including a market segmentation strategy and a talent strategy.
- Drive revenue and be responsible for the team’s revenue goals, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve overall team revenues and growth objectives, and driving initiatives to improve day‑to‑day performance.
- Demonstrate proven track record in working with investment products and strategies suitable for UHNW individuals.
- Close interaction with other Citi franchises to develop mutually beneficial business and client relationships.
- Client Relationship Management:
Proven track record with sales management, and in-depth understanding of clients’ businesses and sources of wealth generation. - Help clients achieve broad financial and investment goals related to the creation, management, and transfer of wealth.
- Develop tailored solutions addressing clients’ unique investment, risk management, and financing/liquidity needs.
- Ensure clients are presented with seamless execution of internal processes and Citi services.
- Team Leadership:
Coach and guide team members to develop and share sales ideas across the team. - Help team members execute their account plans by providing guidance and support on specific deals and clients.
- Identify and attract top banker talent across the industry to join the team.
- Provide ongoing feedback to team members on performance, including formal mid‑year and year‑end reviews.
- Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly activities to maximize revenue growth and client satisfaction.
- Establish a referral network and gain introductions to potential clients to generate new sales.
- Establish a collaborative culture in the team and partner with colleagues across the Citigroup network to leverage capabilities and share expertise.
- Bring together the appropriate product experts to develop long‑term solutions that strengthen client relationships with the firm.
- Regulatory compliance & risk management:
Ensure the team adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies and compliance frameworks. - Manage reputational and operational risks by overseeing adherence to the banks’ risk management guidelines, identifying and working on specific queries related to the team’s clients.
- Monitor market trends and changes in regulation, partner with functional teams to secure implementation.
- Develop strong relationships with support functions across the Citi Private Bank to maintain control, find solutions, and resolve issues.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
- Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability.
- Extensive and proven experience in Private Banking covering the UHNW market.
- Experience leading client teams and transactions.
- Demonstrated track record in relationship management.
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.
