RolePurpose
The Regional Head Securities Services MENA (excl. Saudi Arabia) will be responsible for all facets of the Securities Services business in their region with functional oversight and management of countries within that region. They will own, drive and execute the business agenda aligning to the business strategy and ambitions with the wider priorities of the region.
The Regional Head Securities Services MENA (excl. Saudi Arabia) will collaborate, consult and influence a host of on-shore and off-shore stakeholders across the MSS Business including MSS Heads, MSS Functions (Operations, COO, NFR) as well as broader regional/country stakeholders.
Being the ambassador of the Securities Services business, the Regional Head should enhance the profile within HSBC as well as in the external local market. This would include market advocacy, thought leadership, engagement with regulators and market infrastructure to drive market changes, enhancement of industry standards, alignment with international and best practices, foreign investor access etc.
This role will locally report to the MENA Markets & Securities Services Business Head and functionally report to the Regional Head Securities Services ASP & MENA and the working location for this position is HSBC Tower, Dubai, UAE.
Principal Accountabilities Securities Services Regional Strategy- Responsible for the execution of the Securities Services strategy across the region; ensuring alignment with broader MSS client sector and function strategies.
- Identify and factor the local market intel, market, industry and regulatory developments, trends and client feedback into the strategy.
- Align on the areas for prioritisation (market growth trends, client drivers etc.) and ensure that this shapes the strategic output.
- Lead the revenue and cost management discipline for the country. Agree AOP targets, in collaboration and alignment within the Securities Services Product and Function teams.
- Accountable for resource and budget management at the regional and country level.
- In collaboration with Institutional Sales, Client Management and Product Enablement, formalise the marketing / client relationship / visitation / market advocacy plans for the year.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key senior individuals in relevant industry bodies, client and potential client organisation, consultants, competitor organisations, appropriate other third parties such as regulators and market participants.
- Enhance understanding of Securities Services in other businesses to bring more to clients (existing and prospective) as well as identify new revenue opportunities.
- Own, drive and influence the people agenda for all Securities Services staff in the region
- Be accountable for the people strategy to ensure that we have the right talent and resources to achieve the business ambitions.
- In sync with local developments/trends and client feedback, collaborate with Product Management to define and agree the Product and Technology Roadmap for the region (this includes both region/country-specific product and/or accelerating global product roll‑out in the country).
