Job Purpose
The Senior Operations Executive is responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse and order fulfillment operations to ensure products are received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped accurately and efficiently.
The role ensures high levels of inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction while managing warehouse teams, optimizing processes, and controlling costs. This position plays a critical role in coordinating logistics, ensuring on-time deliveries, and driving continuous improvement to support e-commerce and distribution objectives.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the e-commerce fulfillment center including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and within defined SLAs.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to maintain seamless product flow.
- Manage capacity planning to meet peak and off-peak demand.
- Ensure operational compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across all SKUs.
- Ensure proper storage, stock rotation, and optimal space utilization.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory checks.
- Collaborate with Planning and Buying teams to manage replenishment and reduce stockouts/overstock.
- Maintain compliance with operational and safety standards.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develop, document, and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Track and analyze KPIs related to productivity, order accuracy, and throughput.
- Support operational planning and capital expenditure requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional information flow and timely reporting.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Monitor cost per order and operational efficiency metrics.
- Support planning for operational growth and capital investments.
Customer Experience & Quality Assurance
- Ensure high order accuracy and on-time delivery performance.
- Maintain quality control standards for picking, packing, and shipping.
- Collaborate with Customer Service to resolve order or delivery issues.
- Monitor returns and reverse logistics to minimize losses and improve recovery.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Track and report KPIs including order accuracy, fulfillment speed, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Utilize BI tools, ERP/WMS systems, and dashboards for data-driven decision-making.
- Prepare operational performance reports for senior management.
People Management
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse associates, team leaders, and supervisors.
- Manage workforce planning and shift scheduling.
- Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain HSSE standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with E-commerce, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Marketing teams.
- Align staffing and inventory planning with sales forecasts and promotional activities.
- Support system integration between e-commerce platforms and warehouse systems.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility aligned with 5S principles.
- Promote proactive HSE behavior across the team.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics management experience (preferably in an e-commerce environment).
- Experience working with WMS, ERP, and order management systems.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing warehouse teams.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of B2C and marketplace order fulfillment workflows.
- Advanced Excel and working knowledge of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Ability to interpret KPIs and analytics to drive operational improvements.
- Strong workforce planning and performance management skills.
- Experience in managing peak season operations.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to lead change initiatives and process improvements.
