Aboutthe Role
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join Azizi Energy in Dubai. This role is central to managing the full spectrum of contractual activities across energy and power infrastructure projects, including contract drafting, negotiation, claims management, and dispute support.
The role requires a strong understanding of international contracting standards, particularly FIDIC, and hands-on experience with consultancy, supply, construction, and power-related agreements. The Contracts Manager will work closely with the General Manager – Azizi Energy, project teams, and Group-level contracts leadership to protect commercial interests, mitigate risks, and ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Contract Management- Negotiate and manage contracts and contractual instruments including NDAs, MOUs, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), LTSAs, and related agreements.
- Draft and negotiate Consultancy Agreements, Supply Contracts, Construction Contracts/Sub-Contracts, LOAs, LOIs, and associated commercial documents.
- Review and prepare contractual instruments such as collateral warranties, bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, and letters of credit.
- Support the General Manager and Department Heads in managing and responding to contractual claims including EoT, prolongation, disruption, acceleration, and abortive works.
- Assist in preparation and defense of formal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, by providing contractual analysis, statements of claim, and contemporary records.
- Draft, review, and manage contractual correspondence in coordination with project managers, operations teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Advise on complex contractual scenarios, including suspension, termination, and risk mitigation strategies, to protect organizational interests.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and governance frameworks.
- Establish and enforce robust document control systems for contracts, sub-contracts, correspondence, claims, and counter-claims.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous contractual records on centralized systems.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings with senior management to track contract status and outstanding actions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Law.
- 10–20 years of relevant experience in contracts management.
- Prior experience within power plant development, EPC, or power infrastructure projects, preferably with Tier-1 construction or energy companies.
- Strong working knowledge of FIDIC and other internationally recognized contract standards.
- Proven experience handling high-value, complex contracts across design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Experience supporting dispute resolution processes including arbitration and litigation.
- International professional certifications such as MRICS, MCIArb, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across technical, legal, and commercial teams.
- High attention to detail with a structured, risk-aware approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- UAE driving license preferred.
