Overview
The Senior Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant environments that support business objectives. This role leads facilities operations across one or multiple sites, oversees vendors and internal teams, manages budgets, and drives continuous improvement in service delivery, sustainability, and risk management.
Facilities Operations & Maintenance- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including building systems, maintenance, repairs, cleaning, security, and utilities
- Ensure facilities meet health, safety, and regulatory compliance standards
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Lead facilities strategy aligned with organizational goals and growth plans
- Manage capital projects such as renovations, relocations, expansions, and fit-outs
- Partner with stakeholders on space planning and workplace optimization initiatives
- Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs, ensuring quality and cost efficiency
- Resolve escalated service issues and drive continuous improvement
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facilities
- Track expenditures, control costs, and identify opportunities for savings
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop facilities staff and site managers
- Establish clear goals, performance standards, and training plans
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, fire/life safety)
- Lead emergency preparedness, business continuity, and incident response planning
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments
- Drive sustainability initiatives related to energy efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental impact
- Track and report on sustainability metrics where applicable
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements
- Proven experience managing budgets, vendors, and large-scale projects
- Professional certifications (e.g., IFMA CFM, FMP, LEED, PMP)
- Experience managing multi-site or global facilities portfolios
- Background in corporate, industrial, healthcare, or commercial real estate environments
