The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel maintenance operations to ensure the smooth functioning of systems, facilities, and infrastructure. The role involves leading the engineering team, implementing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and driving cost-effective and sustainable maintenance solutions. The position plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained environment throughout the property.

• Lead and manage the engineering department, including maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians, to ensure high‑performance operations.
• Assign daily tasks and provide technical guidance to the team, ensuring timely and efficient completion of maintenance work.
• Oversee the preventive maintenance program, ensuring that all systems and equipment are serviced according to operational and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain regular communication with senior management to report maintenance updates, emergency incidents, project status, and guest‑impacting issues.
• Support hotel renovation and upgrade projects by coordinating infrastructure needs and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to integrate building systems into new developments and renovations.
• Plan and manage the department’s budget, allocating resources effectively and monitoring spending to ensure cost control and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and prolong equipment life through sustainable practices and optimized processes.
• Monitor inventory levels and oversee the procurement and proper storage of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Ensure prompt and effective handling of emergency repairs to minimize downtime and disruption to guests or hotel operations.
• Enforce compliance with all local and national safety regulations, including fire codes, health standards, and electrical guidelines.
• Evaluate and manage vendor contracts and service providers, ensuring value for money, quality performance, and adherence to timelines.
• Supervise contractor work and verify that installations and repairs meet hotel standards and safety regulations.
• Promote and monitor waste reduction and recycling initiatives to improve the hotel’s environmental impact.
• Provide detailed reporting on departmental performance, including maintenance schedules, completed work, budget status, and incident resolution.
• Participate in the planning and execution of major maintenance and capital projects such as HVAC system replacements, plumbing upgrades, or room refurbishments.

• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
• A degree in Engineering or similar.
• Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting.
• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of maintenance professionals and collaborate with other hotel departments.
• Comprehensive understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and timelines.
• Proven experience in budget management, cost control, and operational planning.
• Outstanding communication skills for effective interaction with hotel leadership, staff, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
