RolePurpose
The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Warehouse Operations Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow, inventory accuracy, and compliance with operational standards. The role supervises warehouse supervisors, supports planning and coordination, and drives operational discipline. It plays a key role in problem-solving, performance reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight & Planning- Support supervisors in managing inbound, outbound, checking, palletizing, and inventory activities.
- Assist in daily operational planning and manpower allocation.
- Monitor workflow efficiency and address operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Support operational continuity across shifts.
- Ensure correct receiving, scanning, storage, and dispatch processes.
- Validate inventory transactions and system records.
- Investigate discrepancies, damages, and process deviations.
- Support cycle counts and stock verification activities.
- Reinforce inventory discipline across warehouse teams.
- Guide and support warehouse supervisors in their daily responsibilities.
- Support coaching, training, and development of supervisors and associates.
- Promote discipline, accountability, and teamwork.
- Support performance discussions and improvement actions.
- Encourage a culture of ownership and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with logistics, buying, quality, and internal warehouse teams.
- Support process improvements and system enhancements.
- Assist in automation, digitization, and workflow optimization initiatives.
- Support reporting, documentation, and compliance activities.
- Escalate operational risks and challenges proactively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- 4–6 years of warehouse experience, including supervisory exposure.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and WMS.
- Good leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts.
