Position: Facilities Manager 13M26

Overview

The Facilities Manager is a pivotal role within any organization, responsible for ensuring that all facilities are well maintained, functional, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations. This individual is tasked with managing a diverse range of duties from routine maintenance schedules to strategic planning for future expansions and workspace improvements. The Facilities Manager coordinates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that the operational needs of the organization are met efficiently and effectively.

They are instrumental in creating an environment that supports productivity and employee satisfaction by maintaining the infrastructure and ensuring that the work spaces are conducive to the needs of the organization. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, managerial acumen, and effective communication skills to ensure seamless operations of facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and oversee daily operations of building systems and services effectively.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all facility equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Manage budgets and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Supervise and coordinate renovation projects to adhere to set standards and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all facilities.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand and accommodate space requirements.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives to promote sustainability within the facilities.
  • Oversee the upkeep and functionality of all building emergency systems and protocols.
  • Prepare reports on facility operations and recommend improvements to senior management.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate performance of facilities staff to maintain a skilled workforce.
  • Liaise with tenants to resolve facility-related issues and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in facilities management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of building management systems and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial operations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with vendors, staff, and senior management.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards is essential.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills to develop a competent facilities team.
