The Associate Director – Project Management is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of moderately sized projects with a balanced level of risk, complexity, and financial impact. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships. The position requires a blend of strategic oversight, operational leadership, and client-facing expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and supervise all phases of project delivery for moderately sized and moderately complex projects.
- Manage technical, financial, and client satisfaction aspects using standardized processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including small teams across multiple business lines, remote teams, and/or subcontractors.
- Oversee project performance to ensure alignment with quality standards, financial targets, and client expectations.
- Develop project strategies, prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure successful project execution.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project stability and success.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying best practices and lessons learned across projects.
- 15 plus years experience overall
- Proven experience in project management, preferably within a consulting, engineering, or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage moderately complex projects with financial accountability.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including experience working with distributed or multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent client management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in contract negotiation and proposal development.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is an advantage.
