Role Overview
The primary focus of this role is to integrate retail “communicating & selling” processes with the “supplying” processes at the store level, ensuring a seamless flow of goods and services. This position will ensure strong alignment between supply and demand to achieve the agreed-upon service levels while minimizing costs. Additionally, it involves overseeing logistics operations at the external warehouse and stores for efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational:
- Ensure stock availability, minimize shortages, and optimize goods flow between warehouses and stores.
- Manage efficient warehouse operations, including storage, handling, and adherence to IKEA standards.
- Oversee import logistics, including documentation, customs clearance, duty payments, and transportation coordination.
- Supervise warehouse capacity planning, replenishment processes, and damage control.
- Commercial:
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities and third-party logistics partners.
- Contribute to sales growth by ensuring stock availability and optimizing warehouse productivity.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with commercial goals.
- Financial:
- Monitor goods flow to achieve profit and loss targets.
- Coordinate cost control and budgeting activities within logistics operations.
- Ensure financial accountability for claims, import-related expenses, and process efficiencies.
- People Management:
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to logistics teams.
- Foster a strong IKEA culture focusing on diversity, trust, and open communication.
- Develop and implement succession planning and personal development programs for team members.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure operations meet global/national standards, including health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Utilize standardized systems and working methods to ensure compliance.
Required Skills for Success
- Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with schedules and meet deadlines.
- Strong planning, implementation, and monitoring abilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or an equivalent field.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, warehousing, or shipping line operations.
