Reports to:

Senior Championship Manager

About the role:

We’re looking for a Championship Manager to join our Championship Management team, based in our Dubai office. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role at the heart of our global events programme. You’ll work closely with Championship Management and event‑specific teams to plan, project manage and deliver world‑class events across our Tours. You’ll support the Championship Management Team on Tier1 events and take the lead on Tier2 and Tier3 events, working under the guidance of the Championship Director.

While the role is predominantly Middle East–based, there will be opportunities to work in Europe and Asia, including periods of travel of up to four weeks at a time, with weekend and evening working required around event delivery. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, international environment and enjoy taking ownership of complex events from concept to delivery, this role offers real scope and challenge.

Key

responsibilities
  • Event planning & delivery
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand event requirements, build delivery plans and execute them effectively.
    • Produce detailed event proposals, including timelines, venues, suppliers, staffing, budgets and legal obligations.
    • Lead all pre‑event planning activity for assigned events.
    • Run day‑to‑day operations for Tier2 and Tier3 events.
    • Support the Senior Championship Manager in creating and delivering operational plans for Tier1 events.
  • Supplier & stakeholder management
    • Research and appoint venues, suppliers and contractors, working with procurement to negotiate commercial terms.
    • Manage and coordinate all event logistics, including venues, catering, infrastructure and staffing.
    • Lead operational meetings (supplier, venue and infrastructure planning) for Tier2 and Tier3 events.
    • Monitor actions, drive completion and escalate when required.
  • On‑site event operations
    • Coordinate suppliers, manage client queries and troubleshoot issues on‑site to ensure smooth, on‑budget delivery.
    • Organise facilities including car parking, traffic management, security, first aid, hospitality and media.
    • Make operational decisions independently on Tier2 and Tier3 events.
    • Oversee event breakdown, dismantling and venue clearance.
  • Governance, compliance & reporting
    • Ensure insurance, legal, health & safety and other regulatory obligations are fully met.
    • Produce post‑event evaluations to capture learnings and inform future events.
    • Research opportunities for new events and clients.
  • Leadership & collaboration
    • Manage other team members on defined project tasks.
    • Run meetings, set agendas, capture actions and present information clearly and concisely.
    • Work collaboratively across the business with a “one company” mindset.
Knowledge, skills & experience
  • Event & project management:
Proven experience delivering high‑profile sporting or large‑scale international events. European Tour Group or equivalent experience desirable.
  • Strong project management capability, with experience following PRINCE2 methodology.
  • Confident using collaborative tools such as Outlook, Teams, Excel and project tracking systems (e.g. WeTrack or similar).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and instil confidence with senior stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
Strengths & behaviours
  • Highly organised, proactive and solutions‑focused.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable and calm under pressure.
  • Collaborative, inclusive and culturally aware, with experience working across different countries and teams.
Additional requirements
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of golf and its diverse stakeholder landscape.
  • Additional language skills are a distinct advantage due to the international nature of our Tours.
Diversity and inclusion

The European Tour group promotes diversity, equality, and inclusion. We ensure that we make employment decisions by matching our business needs with the skills and experience of candidates, regardless of any factor.
