A Commis 1 Chef specializing in Arabic cuisine plays a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality dishes that reflect the rich flavors and traditions of Middle Eastern culinary art. This position is an entry-level supervisory role within the kitchen hierarchy, where the chef works closely with senior chefs to learn, enhance skills, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and presentation of Arabic dishes, such as mezze, kebabs, stews, and desserts.
- Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistency and authenticity.
- Prepping ingredients like herbs, spices, meats, and rice as per Arabic culinary standards.
- Execute cooking techniques for Arabic cuisine, including grilling, roasting, and baking (e.g., bread or pastries).
- Ensure food is cooked and presented within hygiene and quality standards.
- Work under the guidance of Executive Chef and CDPs, contributing to the efficiency of the kitchen.
- Learn and assist in menu development focusing on Arabic dishes.
- Adhere to kitchen safety protocols and HACCP regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team.
- Be proactive in learning and enhancing knowledge about traditional Arabic dishes and modern interpretations.
