Area Manager – Global Retail

Mac Gregor Black is partnering with a leading beverage group to appoint an Area Manager – Travel Retail, based in Dubai.
This role sits firmly on the brand and commercial side, responsible for growing distribution, visibility, and sales performance across airport retail partners, working closely with distributor teams and internal brand, marketing, and commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new listings and expand distribution for priority brands across Duty Free retailers
- Increase brand visibility through negotiated space, merchandising, and promotional activity
- Build and manage relationships with Duty Free buying teams, commercial leads, and key decision-makers
- Own the execution of brand and promotional plans in-market, ensuring premium standards are delivered
- Work closely with distributor teams to track sales performance, stock availability, and execution
- Conduct regular airport visits to review visibility, compliance, and commercial performance
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and market trends
- Support brand owner visits, senior stakeholder meetings, and commercial presentations
- Maintain accurate records covering agreements, sales data, and commercial insights
- Support payment processes in line with agreed commercial terms
Qualifications and Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in brand-side or commercial roles within Travel Retail
- Background in wines, spirits, beer, or premium FMCG preferred
- Strong understanding of listings, pricing, promotions, and commercial negotiations
- Experience working with distributors and airport retail partners
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders
- Commercially focused, results-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international market
