Job description Overview Of

The Role

The Home Planning Advisor is responsible for achieving individual sales targets and contributing to store sales targets through efficient and courteous home planning services. This role involves coordinating meetings with customers for customized consultations, ensuring stock availability, and providing feedback to management. The Advisor represents IKEA’s brand values by maintaining high standards of customer service, supporting sales strategies, and delivering solutions to small businesses and home customers.

Success in this role requires strong communication with various departments for seamless operation and enhancing customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do Operational
  • Plan meetings with customers according to the scheduled workload to ensure proper planning.
  • Provide an updated list of stock levels to inform customers of any problems and recommend solutions based on availability.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of style groups to provide well‑planned solutions in line with store priorities.
  • Provide feedback to the Sales Manager on irregular orders and out‑of‑stock articles to rectify deficiencies.
  • Generate sales reports regularly (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly) to manage performance.
Customers
  • Coordinate customer orders with in‑store logistics to maintain stock levels for other customers.
  • Provide friendly and professional service to assist customers, follow up on queries for excellent service.
  • Contact customers post‑delivery to address complaints and ensure commendable support.
  • Generate ICSS results to monitor customer satisfaction.
Commercial
  • Meet sales targets and communicate with management to improve efficiency in home planning.
  • Remain aware of department, individual, and store sales targets to take corrective actions as needed.
  • Initiate sales steering to improve margins and reduce outgoing articles.
  • Provide weekly and monthly KPIs to help department improvements and customer service repeat business.
  • Maintain strong communication with line managers, logistics co‑workers, sales executives, and customer service.
  • Schedule convenient delivery and assembly times, updating necessary departments for efficient functioning.
  • Communicate with contract sales department to ensure queries are addressed and business opportunities are not lost.
  • Gather feedback from Commercial Group and HD to optimize customer experience and sales effectiveness.
Required Skills To Be Successful
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead within a team environment.
What Qualifies You For

The Role
  • Higher Secondary education.
  • 2 to 3 years Retail Experience.
  • Commercial awareness and strong customer service skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Ability to focus on customer needs, accountability, continuous improvement, personal leadership, and teamwork.
