About Astatine

Astatine Limited is a specialised energy company focused on accelerating the transition to zero carbon for energy users across multiple sectors. We design, construct, operate, and maintain multi-technology assets, including solar PV, battery energy storage, heat pumps, and advanced controls. Our core values are collaboration, innovation, urgency, and integrity. As the energy sector grows rapidly, interns will have the opportunity to upskill in cutting-edge technologies and gain exposure to real-world engineering projects.

Position Overview

This internship offers hands-on onsite experience supporting health and safety activities on our Solar or Wind Farm project. Reporting to the Site HSEQ Lead, the intern will assist with site safety documentation, inspections, audits, inductions, toolbox talks, observations, and follow-up actions. The role is ideal for a student pursuing a health and safety degree or related course who is eager to gain practical site-based experience in the renewable energy and construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Site HSEQ Lead with day-to-day health, safety, environmental, and quality activities on the project.
  • Assist with site safety inspections, audits, observations, and close-out of corrective actions.
  • Help maintain accurate HSEQ records, inspection checklists, safety documentation, photos, and reports.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of site inductions, toolbox talks, briefings, and safety communications.
  • Assist in reviewing RAMS, permits, method statements, and site safety requirements under supervision.
  • Support incident, near-miss, and hazard reporting processes, including follow-up tracking where required.
  • Attend site meetings where required and provide updates on HSEQ actions, inspections, and outstanding items.
  • Work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, supervisors, and project personnel to promote a safe working environment.
  • Bring a proactive, organised, and hands-on attitude, with a willingness to learn and ask questions where requirements are unclear.
Desirable

Skills & Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a health and safety degree, occupational safety course, environmental health and safety course, or a closely related discipline.
  • Interest in construction safety, renewable energy, solar farm projects, wind farm projects, HSEQ, and onsite project delivery environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and an interest in inspections, safety documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Good communication, teamwork, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A full, clean driver's licence is needed due to the onsite nature of the role.
  • Own transport is preferred, as regular access to the site will be required.
  • Being based near the project site would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with the right attitude and commitment.
  • Comfortable working in an active construction site environment and following site safety procedures.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, eager to learn, and passionate about safety, renewable energy, and practical site experience.
  • Opportunity to gain practical onsite health and safety experience on a live solar farm or wind farm construction project.
  • Exposure to HSEQ processes, inspections, audits, safety documentation, and renewable energy project delivery.
  • Opportunity to work closely with the Site HSEQ Lead, project managers, engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
  • This is a paid internship opportunity.
