    this position reports directly to the division dean.

    representative duties
  • ability to effectively and enthusiastically teach administration of justice courses including, but not limited to: introduction to aj, report writing, corrections, probation and parole, crime and delinquency, evidence, laws of arrest search and seizure, investigations, ethics, community relations, narcotics, gangs, criminology, patrol procedures, sex crimes, and domestic violence.
  • ability to coordinate the program and perform related duties, including management of instructional equipment; oversight of administrative, reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements associated with program‑specific certifications and approvals; and coordination of instructional delivery and service agreements with external agencies and partners.
  • ability to design and implement innovative teaching methodologies in the above mentioned curriculum.
  • recruit, mentor, and advise adjunct instructors.
  • demonstrated knowledge of california community college curriculum and instructional development, including course and program design, approval processes, and instructional standards for programs related to the criminal justice system.
  • ability to develop and sustain partnerships with industry, public agencies, k–12 partners, and workforce education programs to support dual enrollment and ccap initiatives; engage in program outreach; and recruit for and serve on program advisory boards.
  • demonstrated knowledge of methods of instruction, testing, and assessment of students.
  • commitment to effective collaboration with administrators, faculty, and staff to increase support and success for students.
  • participate in campus professional activities, which include, but are not limited to: committee membership, curriculum development, staff meetings, and community outreach.
