The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join our growing team. This strategic role bridges technical expertise with leadership capabilities, allowing you to both lead projects and contribute to our company’s growth. You’ll manage key client relationships, oversee compliance initiatives, and serve as a technical mentor to junior specialists while working alongside senior leadership to develop service offerings.
What you will do:
- Lead complex environmental compliance projects for diverse clients, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements from EPA, DTSC, local CUPAs, Fire departments, Water boards, and other agencies
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on environmental compliance matters
- Analyze regulation changes and enforcement trends to help shape our service offerings and communicate impacts to clients
- Prepare comprehensive environmental reports, permit applications, and compliance documentation
- Mentor and guide junior specialists while supporting their professional development
- Conduct employee training sessions and compliance audits for client companies
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new service opportunities and supporting proposal development
What You Bring
- Experience in environmental consulting or related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
- Strong knowledge of California EH&S regulations, particularly in air quality, hazardous materials/waste, stormwater, and wastewater compliance
- Professional certifications (PE, PG, CHMM, CSP, QISP etc.) highly valued
- Strategic thinking abilities with a talent for anticipating client needs and regulatory trends
- Excellent project management skills with ability to balance multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to clients
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
