Support Fixture Design & Development for a National Retail Organization

As a Fixture Design Project Lead, you will play a key role in supporting fixture design and development initiatives across the company’s national retail footprint. This role contributes to the planning, technical review, and execution of fixture and material programs, ensuring designs meet functional, quality, and cost standards while aligning with established fixture guidelines and brand requirements.

This position requires both project coordination and hands‑on technical interpretation of fixture designs, working closely with engineering, sourcing, merchandising, and vendor partners to support fixture development from concept through production.

What You’ll Do Fixture Design & CAD Support
  • Support fixture design initiatives from concept through approval and production readiness.
  • Utilize CAD tools to review, interpret, and support fixture design development.
  • Work with engineering and vendor partners to evaluate fixture construction, materials, finishes, and functional performance.
  • Review manufacturing drawings, CAD models, and fixture specifications to ensure alignment with design intent and quality standards.
  • Participate in drawing reviews, prototype evaluations, and fixture testing to validate fit, function, and finish.
  • Identify and help resolve design or production issues through structured problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with fixture vendors to understand manufacturing processes, material selection, and production capabilities.
  • Participate in drawing reviews, prototype feedback, and technical discussions to maintain quality and timeline adherence.
  • Support vendor qualification and initiatives focused on improving fixture cost efficiency and production outcomes.
Fixture Testing, Labs & Quality Evaluation
  • Support prototype setup, fixture sample review, and testing activities to confirm performance from development through production.
  • Assist in evaluating first articles of production and confirming consistency between prototype and final manufactured fixtures.
  • Maintain organization and standards within fixture testing and evaluation environments.
Project Tracking & Cross-Functional Support
  • Assist in tracking fixture project timelines, workloads, and initiative progress across engineering, sourcing, and business partners.
  • Support coordination of fixture-related initiatives tied to broader store and merchandising programs.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, trackers, and updates to ensure visibility into project status and risks.
  • Identify potential issues early and support resolution to keep fixture programs on track.
Continuous Improvement & Technical Development
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of fixture processes, standards, and documentation.
  • Develop working knowledge of fixture design principles, materials, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Support continuous learning and technical growth within fixture design and development functions.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in fixture design, retail design, CAD-based design support, or related technical environment.
  • Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar) required.
  • Ability to review and interpret manufacturing drawings, CAD models, and fixture specifications.
  • Familiarity with fixture materials, finishes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to technical detail.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver accurate, timely results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with fixture testing, prototype evaluation, or production review preferred.
  • Knowledge of ADA considerations is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • CAD proficiency required (AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar).
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and fixture documentation.
  • Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop exposure is a plus.
