Overview
Director, IT Marketing — W2 Contract-to-Hire.
Location:
Dublin, CA - Hybrid Role. Base pay range: $90.00/hr - $100.00/hr salary Range: $187,200 - $208,000 per year.
This is an experienced IT Director - Marketing Technology role to lead the strategy, delivery, and governance of the Marketing IT portfolio. The leader will build and manage a cross-functional technology delivery team to implement and operate enterprise-class Mar Tech solutions, including CRM/CDP, Loyalty, Customer and Marketing Analytics (Snowflake), ESP platforms, AI/GenAI for Marketing, Customer Portal & Mobile App, and Consent Management.
The IT Director will partner with Marketing and Customer Experience leaders, manage vendor/SI relationships, and ensure delivery of value to the business, shaping customer engagement and personalization capabilities.
- Lead the Marketing IT delivery team (e.g., Sr. Delivery Manager, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Business Analyst, and supporting resources).
- Define and own the Marketing IT roadmap aligned to enterprise architecture, digital strategy, and business priorities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—Marketing, Customer Experience, Data & Analytics, Stores, IT, and Security—to deliver seamless solutions.
- Oversee delivery of multiple Mar Tech initiatives (CRM/CDP, Loyalty, ESP, Consent Management, Customer Portal & Mobile).
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Establish governance, metrics, and reporting for program execution.
- Balance agile delivery approaches with enterprise program management rigor.
- Provide oversight of solution design across CRM, Loyalty, ESP, Snowflake, and Consent platforms.
- Ensure platforms integrate into the enterprise data and identity ecosystem.
- Maintain focus on data quality, compliance, and customer privacy.
- Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI/GenAI for marketing and drive pilots and adoption.
- Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor performance reviews.
- Ensure SIs and vendors deliver quality, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Manage program budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate delivery and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5+ years in Marketing Technology and Retail IT.
- Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional Mar Tech implementations (CRM/CDP, Loyalty, ESP, Customer Experience Portals/App, Analytics).
- Experience in Retail is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in vendor/SI management and large-scale program delivery.
- Strong background in customer data, analytics, and consent/privacy management.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Salesforce, Epsilon, Adobe, One Trust, or similar platforms.
- Strategic leadership with hands-on delivery mindset.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Financial acumen: budget ownership, ROI measurement.
- Deep understanding of Mar Tech architecture (integration, APIs, data flows) and data privacy, security, and compliance practices.
- Ability to lead diverse teams (onshore/offshore, internal/external).
- PMP, SAFe/Agile Program Mgmt.
- Cloud (Azure), Snowflake, or Data Engineering.
- Privacy certifications are a plus.
