Job Summary:

Snowflake is a leading data platform company that empowers organizations to unlock the value of their data through its innovative Data Cloud. They are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to lead AI and ML projects, engage with stakeholders, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior team members while developing complex ML models and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Lead projects;
Conceptualize, design and lead the execution of large AI & ML projects, aligning with the business goals, delivering measurable value & impact.

Engage with stakeholders; lead the conversations with technical & non-technical stakeholders; identify areas where one can apply AI & ML; facilitate discussions around key drivers for decision making & operational efficiencies.

Provide technical & thought leadership; design and implement advanced machine learning techniques, focusing on robust & scalable solutions. Participate in all stages of development, from ideation to production.

Provide mentorship; to junior ML & Data Scientists, around problem formulation, technical design, algorithm choices & code quality.

Develop hands-on solutions; analyze large datasets, manage data quality, design & develop complex ML models (including ML pipelines), deploy & manage production-grade applications end-to-end, and communicate insights effectively.

Partner with customers; showcase internal solutions, help envision solutions leveraging Snowflake platform capabilities, and collaborate with internal teams that enable customer solutions.

Qualifications:

Required:

High curiosity, enthusiasm & experience working on open-ended problems
Exceptional problem-solving skills with strategic thinking
Experience in problem formulation from abstract information
Adaptability to fast-evolving project scopes
Experience applying machine learning/statistical modeling on large datasets, including data pre-processing and feature engineering
Deep understanding of ML algorithms, statistics & linear algebra
Experience with AI & LLM applications in a business environment, including recent advancements like RAG, AI Assistants, and Agentic workflows
Solid Python coding skills, familiar with software development lifecycle
Experience designing end-to-end ML solutions, iterating on ideas, and delivering scalable, production-ready systems
Ability to communicate complex results clearly and influence stakeholders
Ownership, collaboration, mentorship, and leadership qualities
