The Manager, IT
- Unified Communications is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operational support of Microsoft Teams and enterprise audio/video conferencing services across the organization. This role owns Teams meetings, voice, conferencing rooms, and AV platforms, ensuring reliable, secure, and high quality collaboration experiences for end users and executives. The manager leads a small team and partners closely with IT, Facilities, Security, and business leaders to support hybrid work at scale.
- Own the administration and lifecycle management of Microsoft Teams, including meetings, policies, voice, and integration with conferencing technologies
- Lead adoption, optimization, and ongoing enhancements of Teams audio/video services, including conference room experiences (e.g., Teams Rooms)
- Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure Teams configurations align with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee enterprise audio/video conferencing infrastructure, including Teams, Zoom, Web Ex, and room based AV systems (Poly Preferred?)
- Ensure high availability, performance monitoring, and proactive issue resolution for executive and business critical meetings
- Coordinate with Facilities and vendors on conference room standards, upgrades, and new builds.
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for UC and AV support (L1/L2/L3), including performance management and skills development
- Own vendor relationships, contracts, and licensing related to conferencing and collaboration platform
- Develop and enforce standards, documentation, and best practices for conferencing technologies.
- Define the roadmap for collaboration and AV services, aligned to hybrid work and business strategy
- Track usage, performance metrics, and user satisfaction; report trends and recommendations to senior IT leadership
- Stay current on emerging collaboration and AV technologies and recommend innovations where appropriate.
- 8+ years of experience in Unified Communications, Collaboration Platforms, or AV Services, with manager level responsibility
- Strong hands on knowledge of Microsoft Teams, including meetings, voice, and conferencing capabilities
- Experience managing enterprise audio/video conferencing environments, vendors, and support teams
- Working understanding of networking, AV hardware, codecs, and collaboration room technology.
- Experience supporting executive level or high visibility conferencing environments
- Prior ownership of Teams Rooms, large conference spaces, or hybrid workplace initiatives
- Microsoft Teams or Unified Communications certifications (preferred, not required).
