Hybrid – 2-3 days in Dublin, CA Contract to Hire Role Need & Responsibilities
The position is for a Solution Data Architect focused on the SVT (Single Version of Truth) project, which aims to enable Snowflake as the target data platform.
The architect will be involved from the initial design phase, contributing to architecture, data modeling, ingestion, transformation, and enabling reporting/consumption use cases.
The architect will participate in the overall architecture and design, working closely with both internal teams and SI partner architects.
Responsibilities include evaluating and potentially improving current ingestion approaches (currently using Stream Sets), supporting DBT-based transformation, and ensuring the architecture supports downstream analytics and reporting (Power BI, Micro Strategy).
The architect should be able to contribute to discussions on CDC, initial vs. incremental loads, and best practices for data modeling and transformation.
Key Must-Haves
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake as a data platform.
- Solid understanding of data ingestion patterns, including CDC and batch/initial loads.
- Experience with DBT for data transformation.
- Familiarity with data modeling tools (e.g., SQL DBM) and practices.
- Exposure to reporting/consumption tools such as Power BI and Micro Strategy.
- Ability to work in a hybrid onsite model in Dublin, with flexibility for 2-3 days onsite as per company policy.
- Understanding of data governance concepts (Alation is used, but deep expertise not required).
- Willingness to be part of a long-term team, starting as a contractor with the intent to convert to FTE.
