Key Responsibilities :
· Oversee all day to day shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and maximum bay utilization,
· Schedule and dispatch technicians based on skill level, workload and vehicle priority
· Monitor repair order flow from write-up to delivery ensuring timely completion
· Maintain shop equipment and facilities; coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed
· Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maximize throughput
· Track and monitor key performance indicators ARO, hours per RO, effective labor rate, etc.
Team Leadership & Development
· Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top-performing technicians, service advisors and support staff.
· Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
· Address employee relations issues promptly and fairly
Customer Service Excellence
· Maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores and respond to reviews and escalations
· Support service advisors in handling complex customer concerns or difficult situations
· Ensure all customers receive accurate estimates, timely updates and quality repairs
· Build long-term customer relationships that drive loyalty and repeat business
Financial Performance
· Manage shop P&L, including labor costs, parts margins, and overhead expenses
· Set and track revenue targets, implement strategies to achieve or exceed monthly goals
· Control parts inventory, vendor relationships and purchasing to optimize gross profit
· Review daily financial reports and take corrective action when performance trends down.
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of automotive service experience with at least 2 years in a management role
· Strong working knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
· Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume shop (100+ ROs per week)
· Proven track record of hitting revenue and productivity targets
