We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing & Industrial Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence, process optimization, and operational efficiency for high-precision optical and microscopy products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing
, industrial engineering practices, New Product Introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing and assembly processes for precision optical and microscopy systems.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, pilot builds, and production ramp-up activities.
- Improve productivity, yield, takt time, throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, workstations, and assembly equipment.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA, and control plans.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA), implement CAPA, and resolve manufacturing process issues.
- Support automation, digital manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, ECRS, and waste elimination.
- Conduct time and motion studies using MODAPTS and MOST methodologies.
- Perform Value Stream Mapping (Current & Future State) to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Analyze VA/NVA/RNVA activities to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform line balancing using Yamazumi charts for high-volume and high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Conduct capacity planning, utilization analysis, bottleneck identification, and headcount optimization.
- Improve factory layout, material flow, and internal logistics using Lean principles.
- Develop factory layouts and workstation designs using AutoCAD or Factory CAD tools.
- Conduct ergonomics studies to improve workplace safety and operator productivity.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics such as Cycle Time, Yield, UPH, UPPH, Headcount, and Quality Performance Levels (QPL).
- Lead productivity improvement and cost reduction initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Implement process improvements to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency.
- Support daily production reviews and manufacturing performance tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on throughput, quality, and labor optimization.
- Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to improve manufacturing performance.
- Train and mentor operators, technicians, and junior engineers on Lean Manufacturing principles and industrial engineering best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 8–10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience with Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Line Balancing, MOST/MODAPTS, and Time Studies.
- Experience supporting NPI, process validation, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.
- Strong knowledge of PFMEA, CAPA, RCA, OEE, and manufacturing process optimization.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Factory CAD for factory layout and workstation design.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following industries are highly preferred:

- Optical Systems
- High-Tech Manufacturing
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Experience with Industry 4.0, manufacturing automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Any valid U.S. work authorization.
