Volunteer Opportunities
The City of Dublin provides many opportunities for volunteerism in our community. Find out where you might best be suited to volunteer:
City Events
- Teens Wanted! The City of Dublin is always teenagers who are looking for fun volunteering opportunities at the City's many seasonal events and festivals. Teens can earn volunteer credit toward school and club requirements.
- Event/Individual Volunteers The City of Dublin offers a variety of volunteer opportunities at its events. A typical shift is between two and three hours on either a Saturday or Sunday.
Dublin Heritage Park and Museums
Share Your Experience and Learn New Skills
Dublin Heritage Park and Museums opened in 2011, and volunteers are often needed to help provide tours to the public. The Kolb House is a 1910 Craftsman Bungalow built by one of Dublin's early founders. This historic house museum is unique because it has all of the original family furniture and belongings. Together, they tell the story of the Kolbs' journey from Bavaria and settlement in Dublin.
As a docent, you will learn and enjoy meaningful time spent in a beautiful park setting. You will be sharing with the public Dublin's agricultural past. Training materials and coaching will be provided to fully prepare you to give great tours. You will develop new skills while making new friends and learning more about Dublin's history. Volunteers are asked to give three hours a week.
With the variety of volunteer needs at Heritage Park and Museums, you may choose to work with the public (children or adults), or behind the scenes, sharing your skills or learning new ones. Many of our volunteer opportunities are for one-time special events, while others require an ongoing commitment. The volunteer program offers the flexibility to match our needs with your schedule, skills, and interest.
- Ways to Volunteer :
Assist with educational programs, become an interpretive guide, share history, or work at lively special events! - Reasons to Volunteer :
Acquire new skills, help preserve local history, make new friends, meet visitors of all ages from around the world and share your experience with others.
Interpretive Guides Help us to inform and educate children and adults by becoming a historical interpreter. You will receive all the necessary materials and training to become an integral part of the Heritage Center as it continues to expand.
