Position Goal

Position ResponsibilitiesThis position is PRN/As Needed
- Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy (PT) treatments for patients suffering from injuries or disease and to restore function, prevent disability and relieve pain.
- Consults with physicians and/or other departments about the impact of PT factors on patient health status.
- Document findings, treatments and other patient information for medical record as necessary. Bills patients according to proper procedures.
- Educates patients/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercise.
- Serves as an information and education resource for patients, families, and other members of the therapy staff.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Performs related work as required.
- Recommends solutions to patient care problems.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
Promote The Hughston Clinic's role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
- Reflect THC values and is sensitive to THC's ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
- Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
- Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks
- Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
Lift and carry 50 pounds, move patients and equipment.
Reach for and manipulate equipment and patient, visual acuity, hearing and speaking.

Environmental FactorsGeneral medical clinic environment.
Position RequirementsExperience:
2 years’ experience preferred.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy.
Special QualificationsMust have current state license in PT. Must maintain BLS certification.
Outside RelationshipMust be able to relate professionally with patients, family members, facility staff and physicians.
Interaction with Other DepartmentsAll hospital and clinic departments
BudgetAssist the director in working within the current budget.
