Joe Duffy Group is seeking a highly organised and results-driven Parts Manager to oversee our parts department operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing inventory, leading a small team and driving profitability while ensuring our workshop and retail customers receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities Department Leadership & Management- Team Guidance:
Lead, mentor, and schedule the parts department team to ensure high performance and continuous professional development. - KPI Tracking:
Monitor and achieve monthly departmental targets, including sales revenue, gross profit, and inventory turnover rates. - Process Optimisation:
Implement and maintain efficient workflows for parts ordering, receiving, and distribution.
- Stock Optimisation:
Manage inventory levels to balance maximum workshop availability with minimal obsolescence. - Auditing:
Oversee regular stocktakes and perpetual inventory counts to ensure data accuracy within the dealer management system (DMS). - Supplier Relations:
Liaison with Group procurement and approved third-party suppliers to manage lead times and return claims.
- Workshop Support:
Ensure the service department and technicians receive correct parts promptly to maximise workshop productivity. - Trade & Retail Sales:
Develop strategies to grow trade parts sales and maintain excellent relationships with local independent garages and retail customers. - Issue Resolution:
Handle complex customer inquiries or parts discrepancies with a focus on first-time resolution.
- Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an automotive parts department, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role. - Brand Knowledge:
Prior experience working within the Group network and familiarity with the brand is highly desirable. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with modern Dealer Management Systems (such as Keyloop/Drive, CDK, or similar) and strong Excel skills. - Traits:
Excellent organisational skills, strong financial acumen, and a customer-first mindset. - Licensing:
Full, clean Irish/EU driving license.
