Summary
The purpose of this position is to carry out assigned duties, primarily focused on material handling within the thermal department but support all departmental needs as business demands require.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate forklift to move material within the department and to other departments as needed.
- Set up and operate primer machine, pouring machine, and debridge mill as required by production schedule.
- Inspect out-going material and record dimensional checks on inspection sheets as mandated by inspection SOP.
- Perform any duties related to set-up and operation of all thermal department machinery.
- Cover overtime as needed within the Department.
- Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Preferred: at least 1 year of experience operating a forklift or other power industrial vehicles.
- Employee must be able to stand for a minimum eight (8) hour period but could be more as much as twelve (12) hours.
- Job requires regular stooping, bending and kneeling.
- Must have good communication and organizational skills.
- Must have experience working with hand tools.
- Be vigilant about safety

The travel required for this position is 1%.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop or kneel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, crouch, or crawl.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. An individual will be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, hearing protection will be required in certain areas of the process.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to heat or humid conditions (weather related).
At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.53 -$20.93, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
