FABRICATION TECHNICIAN II - WINDOWS

Summary:
The purpose of this position is to use various hand tools and machines to cut, fabricate, and assemble architectural aluminum products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Fabricates all window products from aluminum extrusions using standard drawings and hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, saws, etc., as well as milling machines, glazing machine, and CNC machines for hardware preparations and configurations.
- Fabricates, assembles and understands quality requirements for each process of cut, prep, assembly .and glaze.
- Comprehends and completes fabrication and assembly on a sequence of operations within all window, sliding door and terrace door systems.
- Identifies and tags material with written symbol for assembly and inspection
- Performs all general production work as required.
At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.53-$20.93, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED (minimum)
- Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience within the last 5 years
- Preferred fabrication or construction experience
- Basic computer skills
- Must have good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
Travel Requirements:
Travel required for this position is less than 5%.
Physical Demands:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. An individual may be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
There will be periods of exposure to high heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
