The Forklift Driver / Material Handler is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other Paint Department equipment to move, locate, stack, and count materials. This role supports Paint Department operations by loading and unloading orders, organizing inventory, and ensuring materials are handled efficiently and safely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepares material for processing
- Coordinates re-work and sanding
- Moves material from one process to another
- Verifies order counts and pallet counts for accuracy
- Keeps vendor material in order
- Keeps always assigned work area clean
- Perform other duties as required by your supervisor
High school diploma/GED (minimum) Must have at least 1 year experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Must have the ability to read, write, and count Must have demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to be a team player Must have the ability to learn the job duties within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the supervisor
At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $18.21-$22.16, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Travel RequirementsThe travel required for this position is 1%.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
An individual may be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. There will be periods of exposure to high heat.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
