Summary:

The purpose of this position is to carry out duties in accordance with overseeing and coordinating the department's daily productivity and production by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.

• Make department rounds and ensure all employees conduct pre-shift equipment checks.
• Leads daily stretches and one point safety talks at the start of each shift.
• Coordinates daily production requirements via dispatch schedule and coordinates the sequencing of materials through the process to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
• Ensures work area and all shift employees follow safety regulations to include but not limited PPE, confined space, spill control, lockout tagout, 5S and general working conditions.
• Conduct monthly safety topic meetings with employees and complete daily and monthly environmental/5S audits and daily quality checks.
• Reviews and recommends to Department Leadership any measures to improve the department and areas to include but not limited to production methods, equipment, quality, safety, and service, performance of the equipment and individual's shift responsibilities.
• Responsible for the training and development of their individual crew including safety, quality, SOP, handheld and side loader training.
• Administer disciplinary actions as needed to support the Supervisor.
• Participates in the interview process for new hires as schedule allows.
• Cover overtime as needed within the Department

Education/

Experience:

Required:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Preferred: 3-5 years of Leadership experience within a Manufacturing or Warehousing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience or similar experience within a commercial painting operation. Preferred: at least 1 year of experience operating a forklift or other power industrial vehicles.

At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $26.02-$31.95, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Certificates and Licenses:
Fork lift and side loader certified

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The travel required for this position is 1%.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. An individual may be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, hearing protection not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to heat or humid conditions (weather related).
