Material Handler-Shipping

Summary

The purpose of to maintain, stage, and perform shipping duties as need throughout our department while maintaining our standard of quality.

• Moves materials from packed staging area to shipping and storage area.
• Returns empty pallets to packing area for reuse.
• Performs daily maintenance and inspection of forklift.
• Assist in loading and unloading of inbound and outbound shipments.
• Assist in combing pallets to better utilize warehouse space.
• Keeps assigned work area clean at all times.
• Complete any other related duties required and/or assigned by supervisor or manager.
• Must be able to operate a side loader.

• Preferred at least 1 year experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment as a material handler
• Preferred at least 1 year experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment as a mobile equipment operator
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively for up to 12 hours per shift
• Good Computer Skills
• Ability to carry out detail written or oral instructions

Travel required for this position is less than 5%.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

There will be periods of exposure to high heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.

At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.53 -$20.93, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
