Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and organized Accountant to join our Accounting Department in the Transportation and Logistics industry. This role will focus on developing, executing, and optimizing accounting strategies to ensure increased efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for reconciliations in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare standard and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, into the accounting system, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data. Reconcile and verify financial accounts, such as bank accounts, credit cards, and accounts payable and receivable.
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data, analysis, and support. Track and analyze expenses, ensuring that they align with the budget and organizational goals. Analyze financial data to provide insights into the organization's financial performance. Identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement. Assist in preparing documentation and schedules for internal and external audits and work with auditors to address inquiries.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies and stay updated on changes in accounting rules and regulations. Career-development professional within field. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
