RegionalAccountant, Construction
The Regional Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for completing monthly draw processes for assigned communities during development and construction. This role supports construction invoice processing, job cost tracking, and coordination with internal teams, banking partners, title companies, vendors, and government entities to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. This position may require overtime to meet deadlines.
Regional Accounting Responsibilities- Processes construction invoices and purchase orders (including review, coding and data entry) and prepares construction draws for multiple projects with extensive use of Excel, Concur, and Mark Systems.
- Posts construction costs in the ERP software for job costing and accounting purposes and ensures all draw reports reconcile to the ERP database.
- Identifies variances in actual spending compared to construction budgets and assists in obtaining required documentation of changes to budget, including budget reallocations and change orders.
- Calculates loan commitments for new home starts as required for vertical construction loans.
- Analyzes and reports on cost overruns versus budget.
- Analyzes vendor statements and resolves discrepancies and outstanding items.
- Communicates with construction trade partners and government entities as necessary to ensure timely receipt and proper application of payments.
- Communicates with banking partners and title company to facilitate the execution of the monthly construction draws.
- Assists with gathering cost information required for the preparation of construction budgets and project completion cost estimates.
- Assists with other projects and additional duties as required.
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Two to three years of accounting experience required. Experience with accounting in the construction industry preferred.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting systems with advanced level of proficiency with Excel.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting software.
- Knowledge of construction draw process preferred.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and effective problem solving skills.
