With over 400 professionals across Ohio and a robust remote/hybrid footprint, we have spent nearly 90 years building a deeply rooted, "People First" culture. We reject the old-school accounting grind; instead, we actively invest in our team's well-being, provide clear paths to leadership, and champion an award-winning workplace culture that respects your life outside of the office.

We promote a true work-life balance and put you in charge of your own professional advancement. Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an energetic and enthusiastic Tax Supervisor to our team. If you want to move beyond basic compliance, work directly with a highly collaborative leadership team, and provide impactful, forward-looking advisory services to diverse businesses, we would love to talk with you.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee tax compliance, consulting, and strategic planning by interpreting complex tax codes and regulations for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Perform the first review of complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax preparations, ensuring all returns comply with relevant IRS and state regulations.
  • Build deep, consultative relationships with client personnel, advising them on appropriate tax strategies, succession planning, and business optimization.
  • Manage engagement workflows, project billing, and team resources concurrently to ensure all compliance milestones are met.
  • Conduct advanced tax-related research and stay ahead of evolving tax law changes to provide proactive technical advice.
  • Supervise, develop, and coach staff accountants by providing clear work direction, technical guidance, and consistent mentorship in a supportive team environment.
  • Participate actively in firm-wide strategic initiatives to help solidify and expand our growing client base.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of prior public accounting experience in taxation, with a strong performer track record at an existing firm.
  • CPA License or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading, reviewing, and coaching the work of less experienced staff members.
  • Solid understanding of federal tax compliance, tax provisions, and advanced tax research methods.
  • Experience in a top 100 or super regional firm environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent professional communication skills and the ability to explain dense tax concepts intelligently to business owners.
