The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist manages construction invoice processing, payment procedures, and the accounts payable platform, ensuring invoices are coded, submitted, and approved on schedule. It also supports check requests from regional teams and provides the treasury function with regular visibility into invoices pending payment.
Responsibilities- Collect and verify construction lien waivers, ensuring payments align with proper documentation before funds are released.
- Manage the accounts payable workflow, including receiving vendor invoices, verifying approvals, and processing payments.
- Review invoices and check requests for accurate general ledger coding, and enter transactions into the accounting system, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Process recurring monthly payments and maintain a current listing of unpaid invoices for weekly treasury updates.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain accounts payable files, including W-9 collection.
- Support additional projects and duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience with construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with SAP Concur or other A/P workflow software strongly preferred
- High school diploma required and accounting degree strongly valued.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and other corporate procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organization and analytical skills.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy while managing a high volume of work.
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills for interaction with all levels of the company and our vendors.
