Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable Legal Clerk to support a growing immigration law team in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment. This role begins as a 13‑week contract position with strong potential to convert to a full‑time role based on attendance, performance, and overall team fit. The position focuses heavily on mail processing, document organization, and administrative support, with opportunities to grow into a lead role and to take on additional responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities- Sort, open, and process high volumes of incoming mail in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review incoming client case documents and identify case types according to established guidelines.
- Alphabetize, organize, and file physical and electronic documents using the firm’s filing systems.
- Update tracking sheets and case information within the case management system and Excel spreadsheets.
- Provide administrative support to the immigration law team, including data entry and document handling.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
- Work in both the mailroom and main operations area as needed to support daily workflow.
- Demonstrate flexibility by being cross‑trained on multiple job functions and assisting where needed each day.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and leadership.
- Follow established procedures and respond positively to feedback to continuously improve performance.
- Maintain strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability to support team operations.
- Adhere to confidentiality and professional standards when handling client documents and case information.
- Three or more years of administrative experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced, repetitive work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to process high volumes of mail and documents efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to be cross‑trained on multiple job functions and adapt to changing daily needs.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including familiarity with Excel.
- Comfort using computers and case management or similar software systems.
- Experience with filing systems and document organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a law firm is a plus, particularly in immigration or related practice areas.
- Previous mailroom or file clerk experience is preferred.
- Experience working with case management software is beneficial.
- Proven ability to work well within a team and show respect for leadership and colleagues.
- Openness to feedback and a willingness to learn new tasks and responsibilities.
- Interest in growing into a lead role as performance and experience increase.
This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30‑minute lunch break. The work takes place in both a mailroom and a main operations area within an immigration law office, involving significant time handling physical documents, working at a desk, and using computers, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and case management software. The environment is fast‑paced and high volume, with repetitive tasks that require sustained focus and accuracy.
The dress code is business casual, with jeans permitted on Fridays for Casual Friday. The team culture emphasizes professionalism, respect, and collaboration, with several group lunches and activities as well as quarterly team outings. The role is contract‑to‑hire, offering the opportunity for long‑term growth and the potential to move into a lead position for high‑performing, reliable team members.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dublin, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
