Administrative Assistant for Special Education, PreK and Student Support Services

Dublin City Schools

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in business English, spelling, mathematics, and office practices.
  • Ability to work professionally with the public and others, both in person and over the phone.
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Google Suite, Excel, Microsoft Office and office machine proficiency
  • Familiar with special education laws in Georgia (preferred)
  • Familiar with Bright from the Start procedures for PreK (preferred)
  • Duties:
  • Is present at work everyday, on time, and performs all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently.
  • Is neat and professional in appearance befitting the job they provide the school system.
  • Shall exhibit a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in dealing with the board, school administration, fellow employees, parents, students, and the public.
  • Performs general clerical duties such as composing and typing routine correspondence, creating and typing reports, and data entry.
  • Answer the telephone and greet visitors professionally; handle all duties created by such.
  • Responsible for collecting, reporting, and submitting all special education state reports.
  • Request and maintain special education records and input special education records into the GO-IEP system.
  • Creates and maintains department files with accuracy and confidentiality; routes and/or stores files as directed and needed.
  • Maintain all bookkeeping records, budget items, submit all purchase orders, insure that department budget is adhered to.
  • Maintain an orderly work space.
  • Attends approved training sessions, professional development activities, and required meetings as assigned.
  • Contributes to an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill in the workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/administrator.
  • Confidential Data Exposure: The nature of this position entails exposure to confidential data. Confidentiality must be held regarding financial and personal information.

    Equipment
    Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

    Travel Requirements
    Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
    Work in standard office and school building environments.
