ADay in the Life as an Automotive Service Technician
As an Automotive Service Technician at Coughlin, you are the lifeblood of our relationship with customers, maintaining and repairing their vehicles for years after the sale. You diagnose mechanical problems, clearly explain options, and perform the agreed-upon repairs. You provide regular maintenance services to keep vehicles in top condition, and are remembered for your skill and legendary customer service. You have opportunities to earn additional certifications while working on a variety of makes of automobiles, helping you build a real career.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair vehicles, accurately identifying mechanical problems
- Perform maintenance services and repairs to keep vehicles in top condition
- Explain technical information in terms that customers can understand
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism
- Build a career through continuous learning and certifications
- Automobile repair experience
- Knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Certifications are preferred but not required; dealership experience is a plus
The work schedule is flexible, typically around 40 hours per week, with no cap on hours for flat-rate technicians. Service departments are closed on Sundays and open until 6 pm on weekdays.
