Position Summary:
The Housing Compliance Assistant supports regulatory compliance across a multi-state affordable housing portfolio. This role assists with reporting, file reviews, audits, inspections, and compliance tracking to ensure properties remain compliant with LIHTC, HOME, HUD, and other affordable housing program requirements.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to state agencies, investors, and syndicators. Assist with HOME reporting, Annual Owner Certifications (AOC), and NSPIRE submissions.
- Maintain compliance tracking tools and reporting deadlines. Ensure compliance documentation is accurate and complete.
- Collect, review, and upload tenant and property documentation. Verify files meet regulatory requirements before submission.
- Support audit and inspection preparation and follow‑up. Track inspection findings, corrective actions, 8823 filings, MORs, and NSPIRE inspections.
- Coordinate with property teams, agencies, and stakeholders. Monitor and respond to compliance‑related communications.
- Organize and maintain records in electronic filing systems.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of affordable housing, compliance, or property management experience. - Skills:
Strong organizational and communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and property management/compliance software (Yardi preferred); ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Occasional travel (up to 25%).
- Ability to perform office‑based work and computer‑related tasks.
