Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Summer School Special Education Paraprofessional. This position provides instructional and other support services in various classroom settings to students under the supervision of a teacher or other professional staff member. This position will require the paraprofessional to support academic, behavioral, language and/or physical needs. This position may include assisting/monitoring student(s) with toileting and other physical needs – this includes providing physical assistance to a student during the act of toileting while in the toileting location.

The Summer Program will run from June 1, 2026 through June 25, 2026 at Glacier Ridge. Time will be 7:30am – 12:15pm. Days are Monday‑Thursday.

Hourly rate is $17.84. There is a $150 bonus if the candidate worked last year's Summer School (2025) in Crystal Lake District 47. Must work the entire summer program.

Requirements include:

• Paraprofessional License or Short Term Approval or Paraprofessional License (ELS) from the IL State Board of Education

Due to a child's disability or medical condition, the paraprofessional must provide physical assistance to a student during the act of toileting while in the toileting location. Examples: removing all undergarments, wiping, physically assisting onto and off the toilet area. Walking a child to the bathroom or providing supervision while in the bathroom which does not require physical contact would not be defined as toileting.
